Evaluation and treatment of bowel obstruction due to adhesions, hernias, tumors, or strictures—ranging from conservative care to urgent surgery when needed.

  • Symptoms: severe abdominal pain, vomiting, bloating, constipation
  • Diagnosis: clinical exam + X-ray/CT scan
  • Initial management: IV fluids, nasogastric tube, observation (selected cases)
  • Surgery required if strangulation/perforation or no improvement
  • Emergency care is important to prevent complications
